Mon, 20 October 2008 In a departure from the
usual format (can you have a usual format after only 1 episode?),
episode 2 is a live recording of Karl's Science of Superheroes panel at
the Birmingham International Comic Show. Find out how Spider-man can
climb walls, how to make yourself invisible, the truth behind Wonder
Woman's lasso, who would win in a fight between the Blob and the
Juggernaut, and much, much more. Hopefully you'll be able to make sense
of what's going on without the visuals and look out for some familiar
guest victi....er, I mean volunteers. Hope you enjoy it! If you have
any comments or suggestions, you can contact Karl at sciencefriction@ymail.com Comments[0] |

Thu, 16 October 2008 Welcome to Episode 23, where Comic Racks will engage you with tales of squidgy fingers, job-miffs, and podcast-theivery...and then actually get on with the episode itself. This week we have real-people news (Comic Racks, Jamie Smart, and Almost Dr Karl Byrne)and some pretty spiffy reviews: Deadpool #1 and 2 Big Hero 6 #1 The Dead #1 Our Top of the Racks are as outstanding as ever with a controversial Tail thrown in for good measure (via a big joint fume about Forbidden Planet)... Our main topic this episode is less of a blow-by-blow account of Brum Con 08, but rather more of a how-drunk-did-we-get-and-what-panels-did-we-miss? account We round off with some cracking Rack Music (Clint Eastwood from Gorillaz and Cath... from Death Cab for Cutie), as well as a rather dubious Peeve... Tune in next fortnight for an Ask the Racks special and don't forget this is the last episode to be hosted on the Geek Syndicate feed - in the future find us solely at http://comicracks.libsyn.com/rss Comments[0] |
Tue, 7 October 2008 In this special panel, recorded live at the Birmingham International Comics Show, the guys are joined by four UK comics titans. Dave Gibbons, Doug Braithwaite, Paul Cornell and Mark Buckingham discuss who the UK comic professionals have invaded the US and what their impact has been. We also discover the differences working in both the US and the UK as a comic professional and what it takes to break into the US market.
Look out for a vidcast of this event coming soon!
